Hello! I’m Kaori.
I’m passionate about tea and I have a goal of starting a guesthouse business surrounded by nature in the countryside of Japan.
My previous life working in the city was always so busy and stressful. A retreat I always cherished was tea. A calming ritual that worked to relieve my stress. That’s why I would love to serve tea to others and bring this world of tea to more people.
After becoming inspired by the subject I decided to study tea in more detail. I received a certificate as a Japanese tea instructor in 2019 but suddenly came down with a rare disease called Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS for short). After being hospitalised for 6 months, I’m slowly recovering and getting back to my normal self. It’s been a long journey …
During my time in hospital and rehab I have been considering a change in lifestyle. One day everything clicked and I decided: “I want to move to my own place in nature, start a guesthouse, and share the world of tea with more people!”.
I haven’t quite decided how I’m going to do it, but I hope to use this blog to write about my life with tea and in a rural town in Japan.
It would be nice if my blog can help someone in a small way. I hope you will join me on my journey!
